A puppy mill or puppy farm is a breeding operation with the sole purpose of making money. The animals are not screened for potential genetic health defects or even given basic medical care. There is definitely no attention paid to producing dogss that comform to breed standard for size or temperament.

A puppy mill can be a sign along the road advertising puppies, an ad in your local newspaper or they can even have a nice website, but they are almost always behind those cute puppies you've seen in pet shop windows.

You'd never know by looking at those puppies the deplorable conditions from which they came. You'll see how excited they get when you approach their cage. You might even slip your hand through the bars despite the posted warning not to and entertain the thought of bringing home the one who seemed most eager, but it's what you won't see that would leave you gasping.

For that puppy's mother, life (if you can call it that) is a desperate struggle. Her body is used up from years of overbreeding and because of this, she will probably never see her sixth birthday. She has never been shown love or compassion and probably has no idea what it would feel like to run in the grass.

Her life is not like that of a normal dogs at all. She only exists for the purpose of breeding and has lived her entire life in the same small cage where she eats and sleeps and where she's probably given birth to several litters.

But that doesn't matter to the owner of the puppy mill. He only sees dollar signs when he looks into her dark, sad eyes. In another six months he'll breed her once again for the sake of filling his wallet and the puppies will be shipped around the country to various pet stores and puppy brokers and the morbid cycle will continue.

When she's no longer able to breed, she'll finally be put her out of her misery- if she's lucky enough. The sad truth is that she will probably still be worth a few dollars to a testing facility: A laboratory that uses dogss for the sake of testing new products.

There is no hope of ever stopping this morbid cycle of abuse as long as we keep buying puppies from pet stores.

Don't be fooled by AKC papers. Although the AKC doesn't condone puppy mills, almost anyone can register a new litter providing both parents are registered purebreds.

Please help put an end to this torture. Join the fight to eliminate puppy mills by refusing to purchase a puppy from anyone other than a reputable breeder. There are also millions of animals around the world in need of adoption. I listen to talk radio, particularly sports talk. One of the hottest topics, if not the hottest is whether the San Francisco Giants should bring back Barry Bonds. For the two people on the planet that dont know, he will be a free agent once the World Series is over. One morning last week, the host was emphasizing the impact that Bonds has on revenue by his presence in a Giants uniform.

This particular discussion wasnt the usual swirl of banter over making the best decision to produce a winner, his diminishing skills, the negativity that surrounds the alleged steroid issue, or the importance of him breaking the home run record in a Giants uniform. More specifically the discussion was about his influence on the numbers. Keep him or lose him, how does it affect company revenue? I think one of the quotes was something like, At the end of the day, how many rear ends will he put in the seats of AT&T Park and what does that mean to revenue? I guarantee you thats what upper management is thinking about.?

I found the hosts opinion to be honest, refreshing, and cuttingly truthful. It got me thinking about industries outside of the standard sales driven?ones that use armies of salespeople (big or small) to proactively bring revenue through the door.

Smart companies (excluding non-profits) in nearly any industry make their key decisions based on their impact on revenue.

If they arent, I believe youll find that the company is either struggling or existing well below their potential.

There are a tremendous amount of organizations living well below their potential because they are not focused on being revenue driven. Trust me, Ive seen it throughout my 25+ years of experience in selling, managing, building and leading sales organizations regionally and internationally.

Most people, when they think of the words sales, customer, revenue, they tend to think of those companies that have prototype salespeople whose sole purpose is to proactively bring revenue in the door.

But what about those industries that dont get their revenue through a sales force model. Arent Legal, accounting software, Dentistry, Medical, Architectural firms also an example of revenue driven companies? I mean, call their customers clients or patients, but arent they really customers? And, dont they want to attract more of them so that revenue will grow? Wont that make for a healthier company?

I must admit, that in my work, industries like Real Estate, Mortgage, Broadcasting, Telecom, and Technology where the practice of proactively marketing their respective products and services is the primary strategy is my sweet spot.

Many of my articles can be found on dozens of websites under various topics of executive management, sales management, and leadership. They are usually on sales and marketing sites or those specific to the obvious revenue driven industries that use salespeople to bring the dollars through the door.

But something interesting has begun occurring.

I got an email from an accountant who said, I read one of your articles on The Four Kinds of Sales People and I have to tell you, its not just about sales people. We need to break through to the next level too.?

Then I got an email from a website dedicated to lawyers requesting to put one of my articles on Understanding your sales team?on their website. Call it a accounting software developer or an account executive its still a sales rep.

So I got curious and sent the article that the law site customized to a couple attorney friends of mine and asked them about the importance of revenue.

In industries such as legal and accounting software, to actually proactively sell?is considered distasteful. To directly pursue revenue in this manner doesnt work. The key is to attract?your customers (I mean clients). Attract through being visible, attract through meeting new people, attract through participating in functions, attract through doing a great job for your customers (I mean clients) so that they will become your advocate and refer you to their friends.

Next week I have to go to the dentist for my six-month cleaning. Im one of his customers (I mean patients). As Im leaving, they will ask me if I need any more whitener and they will certainly schedule my next six month visit. I like them. They put out a great service, become involved in the community, get themselves known and take advantage of the opportunities that come their way.

Since Im not directly involved in any of these industries, Im going to make an educated guess. They have meetings on revenue and how to bring it in. They struggle with partners and associates who do not indirectly?hunt for new accounting software. Those that bring in the clients are the kings and queens. And, for those that dont, they have mediocre careers.

This is my message for all industries. You have a choice, whether its direct or indirect, get to bringing in the revenue, or just be mediocre in your careers.

The Cruise vacation you have been planning for a year is now a reality. You've packed your bags with the appropriate clothes for cruise travel. You have filled out all of the cruise documentation, do this at home, don't wait to get to your cruise ship, and now you are ready for this highly anticipated cruise. There are a few cruises tips about embarkation day that you should know before you head for your cruise vacation.

Keep all of your documents with you, that includes tickets for the cruise, any vouchers, passport and any immigration forms that the cruise line has sent you. That includes bus vouchers from the cruise line that will deliver you to the ship from the airport. In is wise to pack a change of clothes in your carry on in case your baggage gets delayed. If you have purchased the vouchers from the cruise line, a cruise line representative will meet you at baggage claim and take you to the bus or van that will transport you to your cruise ship.

If you decided to handle the transfer on your own, check ahead of time to find out how much a taxi will cost from the airport to the pier. It is good to know how long it will take to make the transfer so you have timed your flights accordingly. Make sure you have attached your cruise line tags with ship name, cruising date, and stateroom number. When you arrive at the pier a porter will relieve of your bags. He will expect to be tipped. The going fare is one dollar per bag.

Cruise tips are always helpful so pay attention to this one. Let the cruise line make your airfares reservations. The reason for this is that if your flight is delayed the cruise line will handle it. If there are several other passengers on the same flight the cruise line will delay the departure of the ship. If it's just you and your traveling companion they will probably put you up in a hotel in the town of your embarkation and get you on the ship at the next port of call. If you opted to do it on your own, you will have to make all those arrangements. So, for safety and peace of mind let the cruise lines do it.

If you have decided to go to the town of embarkation a few days before the cruise, that will not be a problem, so make your own reservations. Some travel insurance companies will pick up these expenses but make sure you read the fine print on the policy BEFORE your cruise vacation.

When you get to your cruise ship, embarkation could be a little chaotic. There will be lines, especially early in the check in process. There will be a lot of stressed out people so just relax and take it in stride. After you have gone through the check in process you will be aboard and your cruise vacations begins. Here is where it pays to have all of your documentation completely filled out. Many of the cruise lines have loyalty programs so if you are a repeat cruiser many times they have preferred check in areas. Many of the cruise lines will have preferred check in for cruisers who have booked suites or mini suites. Check this out with your cruise travel agent.

This is a little off topic but it's one of the best cruise tips you will hear. Use a cruise travel agent for all of your cruise travel. It is important to deal with an agent that has sailed on many different cruise lines so they can give you an honest opinion on the difference between cruise lines. Check and see if they are CLIA certified cruise lines organization. Be careful they don't push you onto cruise ships where they have preferred status which means they get a higher commission. Scour the internet for cruise reviews on cruise travel to back up what your travel agent is telling you.

Now back to the pier. While you are checking in you will have to give the cruise line a credit card for any on board charges. Most times your room card is also your credit card and identification for getting on and off at ports while on the cruise ship. If you can get on the ship early in the process you get two benefits. One you get to have lunch and two you get the first shot at spa and beauty appointments. It will also give you time to peruse your cruise ship and then head for the pool. Having been a savvy cruise traveler you knew to bag a bathing suit into your carry on luggage.

Just before you get to the gangway you will be stopped by the ships photographer and a picture will be taken to commemorate your cruise vacation. It will be on display in the ships photo gallery but you are under no obligation to purchase it. Check in procedures will be different from ship to ship even within the same cruise lines. It depends on the experience of the staff and the cooperation of the passengers. Remember that these folks that are checking you in have been working since seven o'clock in the morning off loading the people from last weeks cruise vacation. Then they turn around and start putting on a whole new set of passengers for the next cruise.

The most important advice is to try to keep a cool head. You are headed for the best thing you can imagine, a cruise vacation.

Joomla, Easy Open Source CMS

Joomla - An Open Source CMS worth looking at.

Joomla is an open source CMS system (CMS stands for Content Management System). I'm currently using Joomla to develop a number of themed affordable web hosting sites. There is a Christmas site, a recipe site and a travel site. Joomla has adapted nicely to each of these themes.

Generally CMS systems are extremely pricey and somewhat complex to use. I've found Joomla to be quite easy to use and now a month into using it I am really starting to appreciate it. If you don't feel like using a simple page development tool and binding pages together by hand, then you should look at a CMS system. From what I've found, Joomla seems to be moving forward the quickest. I am currently using version 1.0.11 which is the latest of the 1.0 line.

Never use 1.0 software, that's what people will tell you and for the most part, that's true. However in the case of Joomla we must remember (or perhaps it's my job to educate you) that Joomla's roots (at least the 1.0 version) are in another CMS system Mambo. In fact, if you are familiar with Mambo, Joomla will be second nature (and the other way around).

Joomla is organized in menus, sections, catagories and items. It fits together kind of like this (general, remember this isn't a book, it's an article). A menu can link to a section, category or item in a number of ways (table, list, etc). A section can link to a category. A category can link to a number of items. So, if you need to organize your affordable web hostingsite by menu's or tabs, this is ideal. Of course there is much more to joomla than that, but that is the first thing you'll end up doing...just like I did.

Joomla extensions, templates, plug-ins, components One of the things I love about Joomla is the wide assortment of plugins and templates available for it, both commercial and free. I found a site, joomlahacks.com which has a ton of these things (over 200 freely downloadable templates). I found one that was appropriate for each of my sites and with a little modification (you are allowed to modify most templates as they're part of the GPL) GNU Public License, or LGPL (lesser GNU public license).

Components that I am using are the metataggenerator component (downloaded) and the SEO component (allowing more google readable url's for my affordable web hosting site. Also, like I said I'm using a differently downloaded (and personally modified) template for each of my sites. My sites are Christmas, Recipes and Travel. There are a couple more, but why go into those details.

If you go to joomla.org, you can actually test drive the software. I did this before setting up the christmas site. I wanted to be sure that joomla was right for me.

They've set up a joomla based server and give you a demo account to play with. This is great to get a feel for the software. I think the site gets reset every 30 minutes or something, so don't expect your content to stay there. Also, please please refrain from spamming on this affordable web hostingsite! The joomla folks have been good enough to give us a great product and let us try it out live, please don't take advantage of their good nature by putting spam up there.

Which technologies does Joomla use You could also call this section "what does my affordable web hostingserver/hosting package need to run joomla"?

- PHP, joomla is a PHP based system. If you don't know what PHP is, you should search around a bit. It's a language for affordable web hosting development (I believe loosly based on perl) which can have html embedded in it. I personally compare it to Java jsp's. I needed to do a bit of PHP modification on the travel and recipe sites to make things fit properly, but this is not the fault of the original templates or Joomla, I just wanted a bit of a different look.

- MySQL, joomla needs access to a mysql database. It's installs will create it's own tables, but of course you need to have the appropriate permissions to do this.

That's it...although, if it is running on an apache affordable web hosting server it also makes the SEO stuff work better as you can (possible depending on your hosting) change the .htaccess file to rewrite urls appropriately.

Linux makes a nice joomla platform, but there's no reason why it can't run on any platform which has the above capabilities.

On my host (godaddy) it was dead easy. I just downloaded joomla to my pc, uncompressed the zip file, then uploaded the joomla stuff to the appropriate directory on my server. From there, I tried to acess that directory via the affordable web hosting browser and voila! Up comes the installation screen. I simply followed the instructions and there it was. Perhaps I'll write another article on installing joomla on godaddy (a more current one than the old ones I found which scared me away from doing this at first).

Performance I don't have much of a frame of reference for this. Also my templates are a little heavy on the glitter. I'd say it's reasonable for what it's doing and obviously the faster the cpu and the more bandwidth your provider gives you the better joomla will perform.

Future Joomla 1.5 is now in beta, when it's considered production ready you can be sure I'll be installing it (on a test site) and seeing what's new!

Dolby vs DTS: Which is Better?

Dolby Digital and DTS Digital Surround Sound - Identifying the main differences between these multi-channel sound formats

This Dolby vs DTS surround sound is a rather hotly debated issue. Many audiophiles and home theater enthusiasts argue that DTS surround sound formats can deliver higher quality audio in comparison to their corresponding Dolby formats, with improved dynamic range, better representation of subtle detail in audio content, and improved signal-to-noise ratio.

Partly, this reasoning arises because DTS surround sound is usually encoded at a higher data rate than Dolby Digital and its lineup of associated formats.

This is more than understandable. We are dealing with lossy compression techniques. A higher bit-rate for the same format should normally implies superior sound during playback, as less compression in the encoding process should result in a better representation of the original sound source.

In this Dolby vs DTS debate, DTS people argue that they are after 'sonic perfection, not space consumption' - hence the higher bit rate and lower compression.

Dolby would counteract that their codec is more efficient and therefore, it can run at a lower bit rate.

In other words, one cannot simply draw conclusion on sound quality based on raw bit rates and compression figures alone; it also depends on how well designed are the encoding and decoding algorithms. And this makes sense too, but then...

There are relatively big differences in raw bit rates and compression levels when comparing Dolby vs DTS sound formats, implying a too wide a difference in codec efficiency - about 3 times as much - in favor of Dolby. Is it possible that Dolby sound formats achieve this level of codec efficiency?

The truth is that when dealing with different sound formats, the whole equation starts to get extremely complicated; it is not that easy to define what makes better sound.

This Dolby vs DTS is a much debated issue, but in reality is it true that one is better than the other?

To understand why this Dolby vs DTS surround sound controversy, it is necessary to have an understanding of the main differences between these formats. In particular, there are significant differences in bit-rate and compression levels as applicable to Dolby Digital and DTS Digital Surround. There are also important differences in the way these formats are implemented in acting house applications and in home entertainment.

So where does this Dolby vs DTS debate leads?

Sound quality is an extremely subjective issue and therefore it is not easy to define what constitutes better sound. Opinions vary when comparing Dolby vs DTS and range from 'DTS is better' to 'Dolby Digital and DTS Surround Sound are pretty much the same'.

..and what do we say about this Dolby vs DTS debate?

Both Dolby Digital and DTS Surround are capable of achieving similar results in delivering surround sound, even though the lower compression and higher bit-rate of DTS Digital Surround should theoretically yield apparent benefits in sound quality.

At the same time, one cannot ignore the fact that these two formats make use of different coding schemes and syntax to perceptually compress audio.

This means that efficiency in terms of data utilization between these two formats is different. Therefore, direct comparison of the respective Dolby and DTS sound formats based solely on their raw bit rates, cannot be taken as an objective measure of sound quality.

Thus, while it is objectively possible to compare the resultant sound quality for the same audio format encoded at different bit rates, say in a acting house application and in home entertainment, yet it is not so straightforward when dealing with different formats.

Rather, for identically sourced audio content, it would be much easier for the listener during Dolby vs DTS 'blind' listening tests to notice a change in sound quality when changing the playback equipment between different brands, than when changing from Dolby to DTS.

In other words, you need a thoroughly refined audio playback setup to bring out that subtle difference in sound quality between these two formats.

Not all states allow salary reductions made under Section 125 cafeteria plans or 401k to be treated in the same manner as the IRS code allows. In New York cafeteria plans are not taxable for income tax calculation; taxable for unemployment insurance purposes. 401k plan deferrals are not taxable for income taxes; taxable for unemployment purposes.

New York payroll law requires that involuntarily terminated employees must be paid their final pay by next regular payday (by mail if employee requests) and that voluntarily terminated employees must be paid their final pay by the next regular payday or by mail if employee requests it.

Deceased employee's wages of $30,000 must be paid within 30 days of death to the designated beneficiary or surviving spouse; $15,000 within 31 days to 6 months to the surviving spouse, adult children, parent, sibling, niece or nephew, creditor, or person paying funeral expenses (in that order); $5,000 if more than 6 months after death to distributee, creditor, or funeral expenses.

Escheat laws in New York require that unclaimed wages be paid over to the state after three years.

New York payroll law mandates no more than $1.85 may be used as a tip credit.

In New York the payroll laws covering mandatory rest or meal breaks are only that all employees must have 30 minutes for noon meal from 11 a.m.- 2 p.m. (60 in factory); another 20 minutes from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. if shift starts before 11 a.m. and goes after 7 p.m.; 45 minutes during shift of at least 6 hours starting between 1 p.m. and 6 a.m. (60 in factory).

A new type of promotional medium has sprung up or evolved on the Internet over the past two years ?namely content hubs.?

A content hub is a type of web site that has lots of informational articles on it. A person with a web site, who needs article content for their site, can go to a content hub and download articles for free on a wide variety of topics, and then post them on their web site. These content hubs allow you to search by topic or category or by keyword.

Writers can post articles on the content hubs. The benefit for the writer is that he can mention his company and include his web site address in the article. And that provides in-bound links to his web site, from the content hubs themselves, and from every web site where that article is posted. In-bound links, meaning links from other web sites that link to yours, increase link popularity, which is one of the main criteria used by Google and other search engines to determine web site ranking.

So the content hubs service both writers who want to get the word out on their company or products or services, and people who have web sites who need article content.

The key, for a writer, is to write something that will appeal to the general public, or at least to a sizable specific niche public (such as webmasters or web promotion for instance), so that the article gets downloaded and used on lots of sites in need of content.

It is also key to include the name of the company in the article, preferably near the beginning, and include the company web address in the article as well, and in the writer bio at the end.

The article itself should not be written in such a way that it is just a blatant promo piece for your company. It has to be written so that it is about a topic that your company deals with or you are an expert on, and it mentions your company, but it doesnt say call us now at 1-800-222-2222 for a great deal on tires?at the end. In other words, what in marketing is called a call to action,?where you tell your prospect to contact you or to respond for more information or to buy now, should not be included in articles for content hubs.

If there are specific key words or phrases that people use to find your web site (most web statistics programs can give you this information), or to look for your product or service, then try to find a way to include those words or phrases near the beginning of your article.

Its a good idea to look over the type of articles that are currently being accepted on content hubs, to get a better idea of what works there, and so you can write articles that will fit this medium. Some good content hubs to look at are:

If your company has any articles written already that were written for other purposes, you may be able to convert them into a form that will work for the content hubs. The key is to read the types of articles that are already appearing on the hubs and convert your content into a similar form.

Content hubs are a great way to get out information on your company, and are becoming one of the primary ways of promoting on the net.

Real Estate Investments and How to Make Them

Mistake # 1. Spending thousands of dollars buying books, tapes and attending seminars and then putting all of that information on a bookshelf and never looking at (or using) it.

Comment: Im continually amazed at the number of would be?investors who have spent a bundle of money attending seminars, getting an education and then never using it to start

their investment program. Not only is it a waste of thousand of dollars but it could be the

biggest financial mistake you can make.

Mistake # 2. Failure to learn the basics of real estate investing.

Comment: The other extreme to Number 1 above, are potential investors who realize real estate is the best way to accumulate wealth and venture into the purchase of properties without knowing the basics of real estate investing. Those investors are almost certain to get into financial trouble.

Mistake # 3. Fear of making a huge financial mistake

Comment: We all fear making mistakes, especially a large financial one. If you follow the advice in Number 2 above, you wont have to worry about making a financial mistake.

Mistake # 4. Not looking at enough properties

Comment: Dont fall in love with the first property you look at. Too many investors buy properties because they look nice?or they are just to lazy to see what else is currently on the market that may be better. Part of sound real estate investing is in giving yourself a choice so you can select the best one, financially.

Mistake # 5. A better deal may be just around the corner?syndrome

Comment: This is the opposite mistake of Number 4. This investor never starts his or her real estate investment program because they always hope a better deal may be out there somewhere

if they just wait...and wait...and wait.

Mistake # 6. Thinking that real estate investing is strictly a complicated game that only the wealthy can play.

Comment: First of all real estate is NOT complicated if you learn how to do it first.

Did you know that even professional investors use a simple nine step process to analyze the financial feasibility of an investment property?

Here's a brief idea of the nine simple steps they use in analyzing any type or size investment property.

A Basic Financial Property Analysis

1. Scheduled Gross Income (Income if 100% leased) = $ 26,000

2. Less: Allowance for vacancies (5% of Gross Income) -1,300

3. Operating Income before expense & Mtg. Pmts. $ 24,700

4. Less Operating Expenses (Taxes, insurance, utilities,

repairs and maintenance etc.) 40% - 9,846

5. Equals: Operating Income (Income before Mtg. Pmts.) $ 14,854

6. Minus: 2nd mortgage Payments: -12,863

7. Equals Cash Flow 1,991 = 6%

8. Plus: 2nd mortgage Principle Payment +1,697

9. Total Return: $ 3,688 = 10%

There's a lot more to it than that, but you just read the basic nine step procedure most professional investors use when analyzing any income producing investment property.

Mistake # 7. Falling in love with a property

Comment: Once you get your feet wet and become a real estate investor, youll wonder why you waited so long to begin. Now youll face another problem. Many investors fall in love with their property. They have seen how well it is doing, cash flow has been going up each year, and they have fallen in love with their tenants (not literally). Two big mistakes are made here.

First, never fool yourself into thinking your property is doing too well to sell or trade up because your cash flow is considerably higher than when you purchased the property.

The second part of mistake number 7 is getting so friendly with your tenants that you fail to maintain rental standards based on what the market will bear. This greatly hinders your growth potential. .

Mistake # 8. Failure to plan your financial goals

Comment: Before you purchase that first property, which, of course, you financially analyzed, determine what you expect from your investmentsyour financial goals.

It's known as "The 'time vs. money? concept. The more you have of one the less you need of the other in order to reach your financial goals.

Mistake # 9. Trying to purchase properties that the seller is not motivated to sell

Comment: Ive seen potential buyers continually try to purchase investment properties that

are not really on the market. This includes property owners with the attitude that Sure, its for sale?for a price? Unfortunately the for a price?part usually means it will make no financial sense for a buyer.

Mistake # 10. Believing you can get rich quick overnight with no money invested of your own.

Comment:. Getting rich overnight will not happen . . . (regardless of what some of the so

called "experts" tell you). It takes some time, effort and knowledge of real estate investing to do

it with minimum financial risk.

The important thing to remember is that YOU can do it, too. You can join the millions of investors who create sizable incomes by investing in real estate.

Mistake # 11. No money down investing usually isnt.

Comment: Somewhere, somehow there will be some money required to put a transaction together and make it profitable.

It may be closing costs, repairs or upgrading, whatever. But somewhere, some money will be needed. There are ways around this problem without getting into a high risk situation. You may be able to finance every dollar you need, but it can come back to haunt you in the form

of 2nd mortgage payments you cannot afford to make. Again, learn what you are doing first.

Mistake # 12. Not financially analyzing a potential investment property.

Comment: This is the most serious mistake an investor, or potential investor, can make. I've seen a few pros in the business rely on a "worthless and inaccurate" rule of thumb to make a huge financial decision to purchase, with total disregard for how well the property will perform.

Oh, yes, there is one more major mistake many investor make:

Mistake # 13. Thinking it's important to pay off your 2nd mortgage as soon as you can

because 2nd mortgages are a 'necessary evil'.

Comment: First of all as a real estate investor, 2nd mortgages are good and not a necessary evil. You must learn why this is true. You must learn how, in the right situation, a second or third 2nd mortgage can be a good thing.

Second: 2nd mortgages are one of the keys to creating wealth in real estate. You must learn how to use financing as one of the keys to creating your own financial estate, without concern for it being "risky".

Too Darn Many Ways To Make advice debt!

Here is a story that you may relate with and hopefully provide a couple of ah ha moments. About 3 years ago I was speaking at an Internet Marketing Conference in Orlando, Florida. On the front row was a bright eyed enthusiastic young man in his twenties named Rob.

I was one of the first speakers at the event and my topic was How to Create a $5,000+ Monthly Income with EBay and Online Auctions? I could tell during my presentation that Rob was getting excited about the possibilities of making advice debt with EBay & creating cash flow with online auctions.

When my presentation was over several attendees went to the back of the room to invest in one of my training programs. Rob was the first in line. I noticed throughout the weekend that Rob invested in 3 or 4 other programs during the seminar. I thought to myself, this is good. He is a newbie and he is going to try to find the right cash generating program for himself. I had the opportunity to visit with Rob briefly towards the end of the weekend, and sure enough he had inherited about $10,000 recently and decided to invest that advice debt into a financial vehicle that would get him out of his dead end job working for the airlines.

I reminded him to contact our office to schedule his first 1-on-1 coaching session and encouraged him that online auctions can be used as a marketing division with whatever business he choose, even if he didnt want to do auctions as a stand alone business. Six weeks later, I was reviewing my client list and going through some records and I realized that Rob had never called our office to schedule his first one-on-one session which he had already paid for. I rarely do this, but I decided to pick up the phone and check in with Rob.

He told me that he had marked in his day timer to call me that week. He then went on to share with me three or four businesses that he had unsuccessfully tried over the past 6 weeks that had not made him a penny. This was a clue, that this gentleman definitely had unrealistic expectations and I made a mental note to discuss this during our first telephone consulting session, which we had scheduled for a week later.

Over the next 5 weeks Rob and I met on the phone once a week. My goal was to teach him how to make advice debt on EBay and become a full time entrepreneur He got 20 items from his closet and garage on EBay during the first week and sold 16, which is statistically above average.

His second week using some techniques we taught he put $301.00 cash in his pocket. The fourth week almost $500.00 more and he jumped over the $500 mark his 6th week earning $711.00. At this point Rob was well on his way to creating a full time income successfully selling on EBay, and I knew it was just a matter of weeks until he would be able to submit his resignation to the airlines.

His sixth week, he didnt call in for his scheduled training session. I assumed that something had come up and was confident that he would be calling to reschedule. At this point I certainly wasnt going to beg him to continue his self education?

Three years go buy and I never heard from Rob again, until about 2 ?weeks ago. The phone rang at our office and my assistant told me there is someone named Rob XXXX on the line. I thought to myself Rob XXXX, I know that name, how do I know that name? (I use XXXX to protect the guilty, but I will personally be sending him a copy of this article)

I took the call, and as soon as I heard his voice everything came back to me. Rob, what happened to you? I responded. I will never forget his response. Well you know what the problem is Mr. Calvert, there are just too darn many ways to make advice debt?He went on to tell me that he still had his crummy job at the airlines, and all he had been doing for the past 3 years was basically spinning his wheels, trying one entrepreneur enterprise after another.

Once you decide on a project, you must STAY WITH IT, until you are profitable!

Always remember that the problem is not the project or the system. If other people are making it work, so can you. The real problem is always in the mirror.

The best advice debt you can spend is on one-on-one coaching from a mentor who knows what they are doing. These type of coaches can take years off of your learning curve, and will pay you back 100 times what you invest in their knowledge and expertise.

I personally do consulting with people in three our four niche markets. I also personally pay a coach in another market I am in the process of mastering. Once you start a project, STAY WITH IT, until it is profitable.
